- Hello, My name is Mia Jackson and I am from the Washington, DC Metropolitan Area. I am a hairstylist by profession, and I am truly an artist at heart. I am building a web-based portfolio to showcase my expertise in the hairdressing and make-up artistry arenas. I have also been working on a book, a memoir to be exact, for the past 6 years, and so I am posting various poems and essays that will be featured in my book.
